2286 Bay Skiff
Savannah Skiffs, part of the Carolina Sea Craft Group, recently introduced the second in a new line (also 19, 20 and 24 feet) of bay skiffs.
The 22-foot 2286 Bay Skiff offers a beam of 8 feet, 6 inches and a hull with a 15-degree entry that tapers to 5 degrees at the stern. The skiffs feature a slight flare and slight drop in the shear line. Powered with a Yamaha 115-hp 4-stroke, the skiff is able to reach a maximum speed of 42 mph, according to the builder.
Oversized running strakes are designed to keep the boat steady while tracking and providing solid turning. Other design features include soft chines on the hull, a V-hull entry and 21 inches of freeboard. Foam flotation is integrated to keep the self-bailing skiff unsinkable.
Amenities include lockable rod storage, live well, release well and six console-mounted rod holders combined with forward and aft casting decks. Price is $14,923. www.savannahboatworks.com
