Nordhavn’s new passagemaker

The Nordhavn 63 replaces the N62, one of the older models in the fleet of displacement trawlers from Pacific Asian Enterprises. The company built 37 N62s from the early 1990s until 2010.

Sabre 48 Salon Express

With the Great Recession behind us (hope-fully), more manufacturers are building new boats from the keel up, not just making modifications or enhancements to existing models. Case in point: the Sabre 48 Salon Express, a Down East-style cruiser with twin Zeus pods and joystick helm control.

Whaler’s latest Conquest

The Boston Whaler 285 Conquest has launched with a number of improvements from the boat it replaces, the 280 Conquest, including better visibility from the helm deck, a full windshield bonded to the hardtop, comfortable and convertible companion seating, and some nifty cockpit bench-seat options.

Release 34

It appears the next single-pod powerboat could be the Release 34, an express walkaround fishing boat. The package consists of a 480-hp Cummins MerCruiser Diesel engine linked to a ZF 2800 Series pod drive, a ZF bow thruster and the ZF Joystick Maneuvering System, according to Jim Turner, owner of Release Boatworks.
