“We already build sportfishing boats, of course, but we wanted to really dive in and carry out the custom work that many of our big-boat customers wanted,” says general manager John Leek IV.
Aspen Power Catamarans this winter will premiere its third and largest boat: the C111 Motor Yacht, a three-stateroom 38-footer with a flybridge and a single 330-hp diesel. That’s right: With company owner Larry Graf’s asymmetrical cat design, the boat needs just one engine.
“The Aspen ‘Power Proa’ hull design is very slippery, makes a small wake, and its drivetrain uses less fuel,” says Graf.
“We went into this with a no-holds-barred attitude to create the best 42-foot center console out there,” says company founder and president Steve Potts.
Sabre Yachts next summer will launch its largest model ever — a 66-footer with twin Volvo Penta IPS pod drives, three staterooms and the builder’s highest level of luxury. “We’ve taken it one step further in terms of luxury, convenience, quality, and fit and finish,” says vice president of marketing and sales Bentley Collins. “People are going to get a real Rolls-Royce of a Down East boat.”
