Pacific Asian Enterprises this summer expects to begin the construction of its first semidisplacement cruiser over 35 feet — the Nordhavn 52 Coastal Pilot. “This is a completely new boat from the keel up and it’s a completely different animal than our existing full-displacement 52,” PAE vice president Jim Leishman says.
Just when you thought today’s boats were maxed out on creature comforts, along comes the 41 Cantius from Cruisers Yachts. The Oconto, Wis., builder has designed its sport cruiser with a stern bar area — complete with stools — on the swim platform.
Rob McDaniel, president of Panga Marine in Sarasota, Fla., began importing and selling Panga-style boats in 2001 from a Mexican manufacturer. Now he builds them in Sarasota, with features U.S. anglers want — live wells, fishboxes and rod holders, for instance.
