Garmin International Inc. now offers the GHP 12 sailboat autopilot system for sailboats in the 20- to 70-foot size range, which succeeds the GHP 10 model. Designed for sailing yachts with linear-actuated steering systems, the GHP 12 is a below-deck autopilot system with two different sized drive units.
Key features include a built-in gyro, integrated rudder feedback and reduced power consumption. The autopilot can be interfaced with up to three dedicated GHC 10 autopilot control units. If networked with compatible wind sensors, GPS and network electronics, the GHP 12 can support workload-saving features such as heading hold, wind hold, step turns, tack/jibe, multifunction display route following and more. The GHP 12 also features sailing-specific software with a NMEA 2000 interface and carries an MSRP of $1,999.99 Garmin International Inc. Olathe, Kan. Phone: (913) 397-8200; www.garmin.com
