Lighter is faster when it comes to sailing hardware, so Harken introduced the all-composite Carbo T2 blocks, the first blocks with no fasteners, rivets or other metal parts. The composite structure makes the T2 the lightest soft-attach block Harken has designed, the company says.
The T2 can tie, splice or lash to almost anything and comes in 29 mm, 40 mm, and 57 mm sizes. A length of covered Spectra line is included. In a different version, an included Dyneema loop slides through the block head and over the anchor post for a secure connection without knots, splices, or tools. This model is called T2 Loop and comes in 40 mm and 57 mm single sizes. Retail prices range from $21.50 for the 29 mm T2 to $44.75 for the 57 mm T2 Loop. Harken, Inc. Pewaukee, Wis.
