As of Jan. 1, outboard fuel primer bulbs must comply with Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board regulations limiting carbon emissions to 15 grams per square meter per day.
A new primer bulb from Larand Products exceeds the EPA/CARB standard by almost 70 percent, according to the company.
It's made from a durable compound that stands up to harsh weather and maintains flexibility in low temperatures, and it has no seals that can leak. The suggested retail price is $18.95. Larand Products, Pompano Beach, Fla., (954) 977-6333.
