The new Interphase Escort
forward-scanning sonar helps boaters stay away from whales, wrecks, reefs, sandbars, shoals, debris or rocks.
It uses a 12-degree beam to detect targets as much as 1,200 feet ahead and 600 feet below the boat. It also doubles as a depth sounder, with a range of as much as 600 feet.
