Rose Point Navigation Systems Digital Radar Products

Rose Point Navigation Systems announced a new line of digital radar products that can be used with the company’s Coastal Explorer and Rose Point ECS navigation systems.

The new radar units range from a small 4-kw dome to a 25-kw open array. Radar overlay on an electronic chart gives users “better situational awareness and increased navigational confidence by correlating radar images representing buoys, AIS targets, aids to navigation, and land features with their real-world position on a chart,” according to Rose Point.

Caframo Fan

Canadian marine fan manufacturer Caframo has introduced a new version of the Kona 817 low-draw weatherproof fan that’s designed for exterior use.

A watertight motor and rugged construction with extruded aluminum, UV-stabilized plastic and stainless fasteners, the Kona 817 is suitable for the wheelhouse, dash, a bridge or cockpit that are exposed to splash and spray.

Inferno Intenso Marine sound barrier

In response to recent increased pirate activity, Paradox Marine now offers the Inferno Intenso Marine sound barrier, a device that generates an unbearable noise frequency pattern that “immediately disrupts the activities of onboard intruders, i.e. terrorists, pirates or robbers, and buys time for crews to reach safe havens.”

MSR2107 stereo system

Marine electronics maker Jensen Marine announced the next generation in black-box technology with the MSR2107, a waterproof, satellite-radio ready stereo system that includes a USB interface.

LED bulbs

Light-emitting diodes, aka LEDs, are constantly learning new tricks. Boat owners looking to update their on-board lighting with energy-efficient LEDs no longer have to replace the entire fixture.
