Sea Kindly

The meaning of sailing at sea

For those who have dreamed about a life on the sea or just wanted to learn more about the famous Maine Windjammers and their crew, the DVD “Sea Kindly” ($19.95, The Dolphin’s Eye, LLC, 2009) gives would-be sailors advice on how to live a more meaningful life.

Photographer and filmmaker Rich Holzer interviews captains and crew of the Mary Day, Heritage and American Eagle, to name a few, to find out why they gave up their previous jobs to chase the wind. Special features include a history on the windjammer and a typical day aboard.

Holzer is owner of The Dolphin’s Eye and began his career as a photographer in 1990. He was the creator of various regional TV programs such as “New England” and “Practical Kayaking,” a sea kayak training program. Holzer currently lives in Portsmouth, N.H.
