Press Release Information

If you have breaking news that would be of interest to our readers, please read the guidelines below and send your press release to: editorial@soundingspub.com

Important press release submission information:
1. Make sure the information is newsworthy. 6. Avoid excessive use of adjectives and fancy language.
2. Tell the audience that the information is intended for them and why they should continue to read it. 7. Deal with the facts only.
3. Start with a brief description of the news, then distinguish who announced it (not the other way around) 8. Provide as much contact information as possible; individual to contact, address, phone, fax, email and web site address.
4. Ask yourself, "How are people going to relate to this and will they be able to connect?" 9. Make sure you wait until you have something with enough substance to issue a release.
5. Make sure the first 10 words of your release are effective, as they are most important. 10. Make it as easy as possible for media representatives to do their jobs.

Public Education Distribution Copies

Flotilla Public Education Officers (FSO-PE) may order sample copies of Soundings magazine for their PE class students. Each copy will contain a coupon allowing the student to obtain a discounted subscribtion to Soundings. Issue requests should be received by the 12th of each month. Requests after the monthly deadline will be limited to available back issues and will not include the special subscription coupon.
