FROZEN IN TIME

This 76-foot yacht sank in Antarctica’s Maxwell Bay and became trapped beneath the ice after the four men aboard, who were filming a documentary, were rescued. Compression caused by ice accumulation around the hull is believed to be the cause of the sinking. A crewmember on a Russian expedition captured this image in August.
