Bluewater cruisers earn distinction

The Cruising Club of America bestowed awards to a retired surgeon with 12 years of adventure cruising and voyaging under his keel; a husband and wife who cruise in separate boats, which proved to be a lifesaver when his boat began rapidly taking on water; a cruising couple with long-distance passages to northern high latitudes; a cruiser/author; and a bluewater “statesman” and safety officer.
