Liquidation sale set for nautical store

The Inland Waterway Provision Co., in Oriental, N.C., a popular chandlery among cruisers on the Intracoastal Waterway, is reopening, but only in the month of April for a liquidation sale that will offer discounts of as much as 50 percent, said Mark Henley, who bought the chandlery's stock from the bank that had taken it over.

Henley, owner/operator of McCotters Marina in Little Washington, N.C., says he is selling boat maintenance and repair supplies, marine hardware, anchors, line, paint, varnish, fasteners, charts, books, rigging, electrical fittings, clothing, nautical gifts and store fixtures from the chandlery's harborside location at 305 Hodges St.

He said the chandlery will close again for good after the sale.

The store opened two decades ago, but it closed last year because the owners were having personal issues, Henley said. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays throughout April.
