America’s Cup photographer remembered

Noted Newport, R.I., photographer John T. Hopf died Sept. 27 in his beloved hometown. He was 91.

Through his lens he captured images presented on 60 different postcards, five Newport photo books and numerous aerial photo-posters.

A pioneer in aerial photography, Hopf documented America’s Cup racing off the island from 1958 to 1983.
