Boat show to include on-the-water clinics

Annapolis Bermuda Race set for 2014

The 19th biennial Annapolis Bermuda Race will start June 6, 2014, organizers announced this week. 

Formerly the Bermuda Ocean Race, A2B begins in Annapolis and finishes 753 nautical miles later in Bermuda. Entries to compete in the race will be accepted starting June 1, 2013.

The competition welcomes racing veterans, first-timers and cruisers. Open to any single or multi-hulled sailing yacht of more than 28 feet, Annapolis organizers are anticipating up to 50 entries.  There will be PHRF, IRC, cruising, double-handed and one-design classes.  Three boats in any one class qualify for a start.

The entry fee is $850 if received before January 1, 2014, and $950 after that. Entries may be made online at www.annapolisbermudarace.com.

The final entry deadline is May 1, 2014.  The entry fee is refundable until May 1, 2014, minus a small administrative fee.

Annapolis’ Eastport Yacht Club and Bermuda’s St. George’s Dinghy and Sports Club host A2B.
