Boaters urged to slow down for oil cleanup efforts

Because of the large number of oil containment booms and cleanup equipment being deployed around the state in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Boating and Waterways Section is asking boaters to slow down where oil cleanup is under way.

Cape lobster industry faces crisis

In what could be the first major economic blow to local fisheries pinned on global warming, regulators are contemplating shutting down the lobster industry from Buzzards Bay in Massachusetts to Long Island Sound for five years because of a drastic population drop brought on by temperature changes of just a few degrees in inshore waters.
