Everglades is back in the dual console game with the recent launch of its 340DC. Aimed at hard-core anglers who want a nice balance of features for family cruising and fishing, the 34-footer is the builder’s first new dual console model since it discontinued the 230DC over a year ago.
”The Everglades 340DC is designed for both the coastal explorer and avid offshore fishing enthusiast,” says David Brown, Everglades vice president of product development and engineering. “As a coastal explorer, the boat can be easily operated and there are comfort amenities throughout all areas. As an offshore fishing machine, the standard fish box and live well can be combined with optional outriggers and rod holders to compete with any purpose-built fishing boat.”
The 340DC has seating for guests from bow to stern, including a wraparound bow lounge with an insert table, a convertible C-shaped seating area with a teak pedestal table aft, and a shape-shifting chaise lounge under the hardtop. A stainless-steel refrigerator and sink with freshwater mixer are in the cockpit to facilitate happy-hour snack prep; the grill is for that freshly caught mahi-mahi. When fishing is underway, a portion of the cockpit seating flips up and folds away.
For cruising or overnighting, the port and starboard consoles house a cabin and enclosed head with shower, respectively.
A familiar element in the construction is Everglades’ Rapid Molded Core Assembly Process. Everglades hand-shapes each piece of structural foam and then fits the deck to the hull with high-strength adhesives. The result is a monocoque hull and deck structure that helps to provide a smooth, fatigue-free ride for passengers.
