Morris Yachts’ new M29 has been designed to be crewed by one, and features a CKLTM single-handed spinnaker launching system. All control lines and sheets lead to the cockpit, keeping the deck clear and safe. The M29 offers a beam of 7 feet, 4 inches and is sailed with a tiller.
The hull and appendages are designed and built for fast performance under both power and sail, according to the builder. A carbon fiber mast and rudder are standard. Exterior styling includes a white deckhouse and varnished teak trim on the toe rail, eyebrow, coaming cap, cabintop handrails and flagstaff. A small cabin contains full-length port and starboard settees, head, cooler and forepeak storage space. The main deck, cockpit and cockpit seats are finished in non-skid.
The Yanmar 14-hp Saildrive engine is standard for auxiliary propulsion. The carbon spar weighs 75 pounds and can be installed by two people. The total towing package weighs 6,875 pounds and fits in a high box container for international shipping around the world. The MSRP is $185,000.
