The Sea Ray 43 features the Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Zeus propulsion system powered by QSB 5.9-liter, 425-hp (standard) or optional QSB 5.9-liter, 480-hp coupled to pod drives that deliver the joystick control for which the innovative system is known.

Beyond lateral and spinning movement, Zeus also offers autopilot functions such as waypoint tracking and autoheading, and SkyHook, which maintains boat position and heading indefinitely with the touch of a button.
The enclosed bridge features two independently retractable sunroofs; custom Euro-style helm seat with flip-up, thigh-rise bolster, armrests, heavy-duty pedestal with slide, swivel and pneumatic vertical adjustment; a companion bench with molded fiberglass storage; and U-shaped aft seating with storage. The cockpit wet bar with trash receptacle and storage cabinet is standard.
The design incorporates a master stateroom with separate head and shower compartments, and a mid-stateroom (with its own head) that converts from twin beds to a queen.
An LCD drop-down flat-screen television with DVD in the salon is standard, with options for three additional flat-screen LCD HD entertainment systems.
