Wellcraft 355
Wellcraft’s latest model, the Wellcraft 355, an all-new 36-foot performance and adventure boat, will make its public debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.
According to Wellcraft, the 355 is an all-weather performance cruiser intended to meet the needs of a new breed of performance boaters.
Wellcraft, a 60-year-old American brand that has been part of the Beneteau Group since 2014, teamed up with American naval architect, Michael Peters, yacht designer Pawel Denert and interior designer Camillo Garronni to create a “fast, sea-worthy American outboard commuter for every sea condition.” With triple Mercury or Yamaha engines providing up to 1,050 horsepower, the Wellcraft 355 is advertised with a top speed of over 50 knots.
According to Wellcraft, the 355 is intended to provide high-speed piloting from a spacious wheelhouse with a fully equipped galley and seating for five people. A sliding side door at the helm grants access to the side passage and front cockpit. In the bow there is a bench for three people and in the aft cockpit, two large side gates enable easy boarding access.
The wheelhouse can be opened to the aft cockpit by releasing the top-hinged window and entrance door. The front cabin has a full-sized bed and ensuite bathroom with separate shower. The 355 can sleep up to four people.
