Cruisers Cantius 42

Though the Cruisers Cantius 42 replaces the builder’s Cantius 41, there are few similarities between the two. Introduced at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last November, the Cantius 42 has a distinctive, European look compared with the 41’s express-style lines.

Inside, the galley has been moved up and positioned aft in the saloon, providing easy access to guests in the cockpit through a set of sliding glass doors. Belowdecks is a two-stateroom layout with the master in the bow and a VIP stateroom amidships.

Standard power is a pair of 370-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels mated to IPS500 pod drives, which are good for a 30-knot top end and a 27-knot cruise. Joystick steering is ready for close-quarters maneuvering.

Prestige 460 S Coupe

Launched alongside Prestige’s 520 S Coupe at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last year, the 460 S Coupe replaces the 450 S Coupe. The exterior lines are updated, there’s a more extensive hydraulic swim platform with a transom grill, the cockpit is redesigned with expanded L-shaped seating, and the refreshed interior layout includes two staterooms and two heads.

By removing an aft staircase that used to lead down to the master stateroom from the saloon, Prestige was able to create an open-concept floor plan that feels roomier than on the outgoing 450 S. Interior appointments are minimalist yet modern and luxurious.

Power plant options include the standard pair of 370-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels with IPS500 pod drives or optional 435-hp Volvo Penta D5 diesels with IPS600 pod drives. Expect top-end performance of 33 knots and an efficient cruise of 25 knots with the base engines.

Carver C34 Coupe

Carver Yachts’ C34 Coupe is the latest — and smallest — addition to the Wisconsin-based builder’s restyled line of coupe and flybridge models.

Open areas that seem to connect to one another are the new design’s hallmarks. The main saloon links to the cockpit through a set of sliding glass doors, and the area can be further opened up via a power sunroof in the cabin top. Curved, wraparound glass in the main saloon provides a 360-degree view of the surroundings, and hull-side glass and ports bring the same airiness farther below to the single stateroom and head. An amidships lounge converts to a berth for guests.

A pair of 250-hp, 4.5-liter MerCruiser gas inboards are standard. Other gas and diesel power options are available .

Beneteau Gran Turismo 50

Beneteau took the wraps off its long-anticipated Gran Turismo 49 replacement at the Miami International Boat Show in February. The Gran Turismo 50 is longer with more standard features, including a Williams Minijet 280 tender that stows in a transom compartment.

Owners will enjoy a lavishly appointed master stateroom, with an ensuite head with shower. The guest stateroom is in the bow with a scissoring berth that converts to sleep two singles or a couple. An adjoining head with shower is shared with the rest of the boat’s guests.

Twin 435-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels lie in the Gran Turismo 50’s belly and are good for 29 knots at the pins. Most owners will cruise her around 25 knots for best fuel efficiency. IPS600 pod drives with joystick steering are standard.

Riviera 395 SUV

Riviera’s 395 SUV is the first under-40-foot model from the Australian builder in nearly 10 years. It is expected to arrive in North America this fall.

The coupe has two staterooms belowdecks: a master with a queen-size island berth in the bow, and a three-berth, amidships guest stateroom. The staterooms share an enclosed head with separate shower.

The main saloon has an L-shaped galley and dinette positioned aft to improve communication with folks in the cockpit. A two-person bench with flip-up bolsters is abaft the port-side helm and has companion seating across from it.

The cockpit has mezzanine-style seating looking aft, a grill and sink at the transom, and a large transom door for easy access to the swim platform.

Sealine C430

Formerly a British builder, Sealine’s models are now built by parent company Hanse in Germany. The company’s most recent introduction, the C430, made its North American debut at the Miami International Boat Show in February. The C430 has a more utilitarian look than many in its class but pulls it off with uncommon elegance.

The C430 provides access to the water via a hydraulic swim platform. The single-level main saloon and cockpit flow into each other to create one large space with the opening of a set of sliding doors. There are a number of belowdecks layout options; a two-stateroom layout with a queen-size berth in the bow stateroom is standard. Each stateroom has access to an enclosed head and shower.

The standard 300-hp Volvo Penta D4 diesels are good for 25 knots of top end and a 20-knot cruise. IPS400 drives and joystick controls are standard.

Galeon 430 HTC

Polish boatbuilder Galeon Yachts has introduced at least three new models to its hardtop (HT) lineup in the past year. Among them is the 430 HTC, a coupe based on the builder’s 420 Fly hull.

The 430 HTC has an astonishing amount of space below. Its cabin sole is set relatively low in the boat, creating extra headroom. Glass on the front, sides and top of the cabin let in tons of light, and windows and a power sunroof open for ventilation. The cockpit also is placed low in the boat, making it feel more connected to the water.

Belowdecks is a three-stateroom layout. A master with a queen-size island berth is in the bow, while a pair of guest staterooms each have two twin bunks. Twin enclosed heads with showers are accessible via a foyer.

The launch vessel was equipped with a pair of 435-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels. Galeon quotes a top end of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 26 knots.

LOA: 43 feet, 6 inches • BEAM: 13 feet, 8 inches • WEIGHT: 26,610 pounds (dry weight) • DRAFT: 3 feet, 11 inches • HULL TYPE: modified-vee • POWER: twin 435-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels • SPEED: 30 knots top, 26 knots cruise • TANKAGE: 290 gallons fuel, 119 gallons water, 40 gallons waste • PRICE: Available on request • CONTACT: Galeon Yachts North America, Clearwater, Florida, (888) 705-7835. galeonyachts.us

Galeon 485 HTS

Another addition to the Galeon lineup is the 485 HTS (hardtop sport cruiser). Sculpted with aggressive and sporty lines, the 485 HTS looks as if it’s moving even when tied to the dock.

Belowdecks are a galley and dinette in the main saloon, which is connected to two staterooms. The master is amidships with a queen-size island berth, and the guest stateroom is in the bow. There are two enclosed heads with showers.

Under the swooping hardtop is the bridge deck, home to a starboard-oriented helm, a C-shaped lounge set around a dining table, and a console with a fridge and sink. Glass creates a connected feeling to nature, and the power-opening windows and sunroof enhance cross ventilation. The well-protected aft cockpit has a U-shaped lounge that converts to a sunpad. Under it, and accessible from the swim platform, is a tender garage.

A variety of engine and drivetrain choices are available. Galeon outfitted its demo model with a pair of 435-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels mated to IPS600 pod drives. Expect a top speed of 30 knots and a 25-knot cruise.

LOA: 43 feet, 7 inches • BEAM: 13 feet, 11 inches • WEIGHT: 29,983 pounds • DRAFT: 2 feet, 8 inches • HULL TYPE: modified-vee • POWER: twin 435-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels with IPS600 pod drives • SPEED: 30 knots top, 25 knots cruise • TANKAGE: 336 gallons fuel, 119 gallons water, 37 gallons waste • PRICE: Available on request • CONTACT: Galeon Yachts North America, Clearwater, Florida, (888) 705-7835. galeonyachts.us

galeon-405hts

Galeon 405 HTS

Galeon’s 405 HTS is the shortest model in Galeon’s Hardtop Sport/Coupe (HTS/HTC) lineup. It has a two-stateroom, two-head layout with a saloon, galley and dinette. Either stateroom — one in the bow, one amidships — could be used as the master, but the amidships accommodations have a private, enclosed head and shower.

The main deck is a single level from the transom forward to the companionway. A C-shaped lounge converts to a sunpad abaft bench companion seating, while a console with a sink and fridge is abaft the starboard helm seat.

A number of power plants are offered. On the launch model a pair of 370-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels were good for 35 knots of top end and a cruise speed of 32 knots.

LOA: 39 feet, 4 inches • BEAM: 12 feet, 10 inches • WEIGHT: 23,060 pounds • DRAFT: 3 feet, 5 inches • HULL TYPE: modified-vee • POWER: twin 370-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesels • SPEED: 35 knots top, 32 knots cruise • TANKAGE: 251 gallons fuel, 119 gallons water, 37 gallons waste • PRICE: Available on request • CONTACT: Galeon Yachts North America, Clearwater, Florida, (888) 705-7835. galeonyachts.us

Sea Ray SLX 400 OB

The Sea Ray SLX 400 OB is a variant of the inboard-powered SLX 400. Though Sea Ray classifies the SLX 400’s design as a bowrider, the SLX 400 OB has features that put this boat in the utilitarian class.

One such feature is an engineered slab of the aft starboard topsides that flips down to extend the teak swim platform and main deck. The rest of the deck is laid out on one level, starting forward with a spacious bow seating area with three lounges and a U-shaped settee with a teak dining table. Farther aft is the helm, which has a two-person bench seat and companion seating to port. A galley and dinette are also under the hardtop. A belowdecks cabin has an enclosed head and shower, and a U-shaped lounge that converts to a berth.

A trio of 350-hp Mercury Verado 4-strokes provide a 46-knot top end and 33-knot cruise.

sea-ray-sundancer-ob

Sea Ray Sundancer 320 OB

Sea Ray launched the Sundancer 320 OB as an outboard alternative to its inboard-powered Sundancer 320 sport cruiser at the 2018 Miami International Boat Show. The 320 has the lines of its multilevel, express-style predecessors, but on deck is designed with an eye toward single-level, outdoor relaxation.

There’s room for three in the bow on a lounge with individual headrests and armrests. Under the hardtop is an L-shaped lounge with a teak table, helm and companion bench seating, and a grill and sink.

Belowdecks is a pair of amidships berths, a small galley, an enclosed head with a shower, and a V-berth lounge that converts to a berth.

A triple rack of 250-hp Mercury Verado 4-stroke outboards powers the 320 OB to a top speed of 47 knots at wide-open throttle. Folks with an eye on efficiency will cruise the 320 OB at around 30 knots.

Formula 430 ASC

Formula’s latest iteration of its 430 Crossover platform is the 430 All Sports Crossover (ASC).

Though its deck layout is essentially the same as the 430 Super Sport Crossover’s, the 430 ASC has additional features for owners with diving, fishing and water sports in mind. Among them are a temperature-controlled fish box, a live well that pulls double duty as scuba tank stowage, a stainless-steel transom leaning post with stand-up paddleboard/surfboard stowage, and fishing rod holders.

Forward is a roomy bow lounge. Abaft it under the hardtop are wide helm seating, a U-shaped dinette with an adjacent bench, and a rigging/cleanup station. The cabin has two sleeping areas: a forward V-berth that converts to a double, and an amidships berth. A one-burner electric stove, sink and microwave are in the galley.

A set of four 400-hp Mercury Racing Verado 4-strokes make quick work of getting to the fishing grounds, capable of pushing the 430 ASC to a top speed of 51 knots and providing a 36-knot cruise.

Tiara Sport 38 LS

The Sport 38 LS is the first in what Tiara says will be a complete line of outboard-powered crossover/dayboat designs from the Michigan builder. Tiara took the wraps off the 38 LS Sport late last year.

The 38 LS has a C-shaped cockpit lounge set around a teak table that swivels 180 degrees fore and aft.

Forward of that is refrigeration, stowage, a sink and an electric grill. Teak, stainless-steel and fabric detailing provide nice touches throughout. There is additional seating in the bow and, with flip-up bolsters, abaft the helm.

Tiara has nestled a surprisingly comfy cabin under the console, replete with an athwartships-oriented berth, ample stowage and an enclosed head/shower.

A trio of 350-hp Yamaha F350 outboards is on the stern, good for a wide-open-throttle speed of 48 knots and a cruise in the low 30s.

Boston Whaler 350 Realm

The 350 is the first member of Boston Whaler’s Realm line, which the builder describes as “a family of boats that deliver all the open-cockpit versatility of a center console and the comfort-minded amenities of a cabin cruiser.”

A port-side deck leads past the console to a wraparound bow lounge and table. Under the hardtop are the helm, a reversible two-person bench/lounge, and a refrigerator, sink and grill.

Access to the belowdecks accommodations is through a companionway to port of the helm. Below is a V-lounge that converts to a berth with a drop-in cushion, hanging locker stowage and an enclosed head with shower.

The cockpit has a two-person convertible bench seat, galley access, a port-side dive door, a starboard-side dock step-up and a transom door that provides access to the triple 350-hp Mercury Verado 4-strokes. Whaler reports a 45.8-knot top end and a 25.6-knot cruise.

Regal 33 SAV

Regal is best known for its express, bowrider and cuddy cabin boats, but like other builders is getting in on the crossover/sport boat market. The Regal 33 Sports Activity Vessel launched at the Miami International Boat Show in February and is the first boat of its kind for Regal.

The 33 SAV has a bow lounge, a port-side walk-through and a seating-heavy cockpit with an aft-facing console that has a fridge, sink and optional grill. Under the hardtop and abaft the windshield is three-person helm seating. A fishing package adds a live well, macerated fish box, rod holders and raw-water washdown.

Accommodations below can be configured to sleep two couples, with one amidships and the other atop a bench that folds down to form a berth. An enclosed head with shower is to starboard. Stowage and a microwave are to port.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm

Big sister to the 350 Realm, the Boston Whaler 380 Realm is the second addition to Whaler’s crossover/dayboat model range. Whaler unveiled it at the Miami International Boat Show in February.

Its deck layout is similar to the Realm 350’s, but the 380 has an expanded galley under the hardtop, to port. There’s also companion seating adjacent to the helm and an extended, hinged windshield panel at the walkaround deck. The helm bench’s seatback flips back and forth, converting the seating area abaft it to a dinette.

The under-console cabin has a V-shaped lounge set around a teak table that converts to a berth with a drop-in cushion, as well as a galley and enclosed head with shower.

Standard on the 380 Realm are quad 300-hp Mercury Verado 4-strokes, available in black or white. The launch model was equipped with quad 350-hp Mercury Verados that Whaler tested to a top speed of 45.8 knots and a cruise of 25.6 knots.
