Atlantis WeatherGear has introduced Aegis, a line of protective outerwear for coastal sailing to include a jacket, spray top and hybrid bib.
Developed “by sailors, for sailors,” the collection is anchored by the jacket that relaunched the brand two years ago and features Atlantis’ proprietary Typhoon fabric, a triple-layer laminate that offers low bulk, strong protection and moisture management “with industry-leading waterproof and breathability ratings, according to the company.” Atlantis collaborated on the engineering and development of the new products with Tool Inc., an industrial design that works with other known brands such as Burton and STX. Suggested retail price for the Aegis spray top is $195, while bib and jacket are listed at $295. Atlantis WeatherGear, Marblehead, Mass. Phone: (781) 631-6157; www.atlantisweathergear.com
