Resembling something from a science fiction movie, the amphibious Iguana 24 is a Euro-sleek center console with a wave-piercing hull and a cruising speed of more than 35 knots with a 250-hp Mercury outboard.
When it’s time to come ashore, two tread mechanisms on motorized hydraulic arms come out of the hull and raise the boat so it can drive on land for high-and-dry disembarking. Built in France, the 24-footer’s MSRP starts at around $249,000. There is also a 29-foot version. Iguana Yachts, www.iguanayachts.com.
