As toxic antifouling marine paints and bottom coatings are banned on U.S. and Canadian freshwater lakes,
Zebra Zappers introduces a solution called Sta-Z-Off that inhibits the attachment of zebra mussels.
It is water-soluble and dries clear, making it suitable for trim tabs, trim cylinders, rubber components, transducers, outdrives and other underwater areas. According to the manufacturer, Sta-Z-Off is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, and is not regulated as a hazardous material. It also minimizes gelcoat staining and can be cleaned up easily in the fall. Sta-Z-Off can be applied up to three times faster and covers up to four times the area of other coatings, according to the manufacturer. MSRP ranges from $49.95 for a pint to $335 for 1 gallon.
