A $6.8 million Nordhavn 76 yacht owned by a New Zealand businessman sank last week after catching fire in England.

The 76-foot vessel, named Kahu, caught fire and sank while moored at a marina in the Isle of Wight, according to the (U.K.) Daily Mail, which published several pictures of the burning vessel.

The 2-year-old boat was owned by Paul Rudling, 64, who recently returned to New Zealand after founding a successful advanced composites company and, more recently, a wind turbine rotor company, a report in the New Zealand Herald said.

The yacht was listed for sale for $5.65 million at the time of the fire. The listing noted that Rudling was an experienced yachtsman who was “very much involved at the design, specification and build stage. As a result, the yacht is fitted with some excellent custom requests which have significantly enhanced the desirability of this very fine example.”

The listing features a 2-minute video montage of the yacht’s exterior and interior while under way.
