A Memorial Day remembrance

Memorial Day allows us the chance to remember those heroes who died during military service for our country. Originally called Decoration Day, it was officially declared a national Day of Remembrance by President Lyndon B. Johnson in May 1966.

Rev. Mike Heese, a senior pastor of Immanuel Anglican Church in Destin, Fla., wrote a column about Coast Guard Machinery Technician 3rd Class, Lonnie M. Jones — just one of the countless thousands of brave men and women we honor on Memorial Day.
