On the eve of the Yacht & Brokerage Show in Miami Beach and the Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail, Active Interest Media Inc. announced that it reached a definitive agreement to acquire the rights to publish the marine and online properties currently published by Source Interlink Media, including Power & Motoryacht and Sail magazines.
AIM’s Marine Group now includes PMY, Sail, Yachts International, Soundings, Soundings Trade Only and PassageMaker magazines, and online property BoatQuest.com. AIM also owns Show Management, producers of the Yacht & Brokerage Show; Palm Beach, St. Petersburg and Sarasota boat shows; and the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
“The addition of Power & Motoryacht and Sail extends AIM’s reach among boating enthusiasts to two very important segments of the market,” AIM president and chief operating officer Andy Clurman said in a statement. “We’re very excited to bring AIM’s extensive resources to continue to build audiences for these brands.”

Sail will remain in its current location in Boston, while PMY will relocate from New York City to AIM’s office in Essex, Conn., the home of Soundings and Soundings Trade Only.
Both will report to AIM Marine Group publisher Gary DeSanctis.
