America's Cup team faces disqualification claim

Larry Ellison’s BMW-Oracle sailing syndicate was ordered to appear in court May 14 to discuss why his team shouldn’t be disqualified as an America’s Cup challenger of record for failing to register under race rules. The request was made by lawyers for Swiss billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli’s Alinghi, the Cup’s defending champion, for a hearing over whether to bar BMW-Oracle from competing in yachting’s oldest championship.
