The award-winning 40-foot express cruiser Nisca will be among more than 50 other power and sail vessels participating July 24-25 in the 35th annual Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous at Mystic Seaport.
The event showcases restored antique vessels built before 1965 including cruisers, sailboats, runabouts and launches. Visitors are invited to see the displayed vessels from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. An award competition will recognize excellence in restoration, authenticity and workmanship.
Another upcoming event at Mystic Seaport is the return of the "Roaring '20s" at the inaugural Rum Runners' Rendezvous, to be held from 7:30-11 p.m. July 24.
Hosted the same weekend as the annual Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous at Mystic Seaport, the evening's festivities will celebrate the beauty, music and lively ambiance of a bygone era.
Felix and the Cats, a nine-piece band known throughout New York City for its lively Swing and Big Band performances, will play throughout the evening. Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion in period attire - as a "doll," flapper," "real McCoy" or any other 1920s character - and dance the night away under a tent on the Museum's North Lawn overlooking the historic Mystic River.
