The National Sailing Center & Hall of Fame is joining with the United States Naval Academy and the Pride of Baltimore II to offer a field trip for eighth graders this spring.
The group is asking Annapolis-area schools to take advantage of the program.
The trips are slated to be two groups of 30 per day.

In related news, a series of talks on board the Pride of Baltimore II begins April 23.
The first two on-the-water lectures scheduled are
• Captain Jan Miles was one of three rotating Captains on the original Pride of Baltimore. With 35 years of experience as a professional sailor, his voyages include five Atlantic Ocean crossings, as well as three Pacific voyages.
• Gary Jobson, a former All-American collegiate sailor, won the America’s Cup in 1977 as tactician for Ted Turner. As an ESPN sailing analyst, lecturer and writer, he is the pre-eminent ambassador for sailing in the U.S. and is president of US Sailing.
