Aquila Boats to Introduce Two New Coupe Models
Aquila will introduce two new coupe models at February’s 2025 Miami International Boat Show. The 42C and 46C will be the first in a whole new line of coupe-style performance cruisers and include Aquila’s trademarked Aquila Hydro Glide Foil System.
The system has one forward foil and one aft foil between the hulls to help lift the boats partially out of the water. Together with narrow, chined hulls, the foils will help get the boat on plane and allow it to semi-foil to reduce the hull’s wetted surface area for greater speed and efficiency.
Both models will be offered standard with twin outboards or optional twin inboard sterndrives. Standard power on the 42C will be twin 400-hp Mercury V-10 Verados. Optional power will be twin Volvo 440-hp D6 DPI sterndrive diesels. The 46C will be offered standard with twin 600-hp Mercury Verado V12s. Optional power will be twin Volvo 440-hp VD6 DPI Volvo sterndrive diesels. Top speed for both boats will be over 40 knots.
The cabin interiors will use the full width of the narrow hulls by eliminating side decks and allow the salon to use the full beam of the boats. The helm station will be forward to starboard with a large dinette and a galley aft. A large sliding door will lead into the cockpit, and both models will have two cabins with en-suite heads with separate showers.
The 46C with its 17-foot, 11-inch beam and 47-foot, 4-inch LOA will have an Offshore B CE certification for 13 passengers, a coastal certification for 22 passengers and an inland rating for up to 32 passengers, which would it one heck of an on-the-water gathering spot.
