The 29th Norwalk International In-Water Boat Show, held Sept. 23 to 26 at Cove Marina in East Norwalk, Conn., drew a turnout of 26,377.
That figure is “down slightly” from the previous year, says National Marine Manufacturers Association spokesperson Rae van Maanen. She says sales were strong, however.
NMMA attributed the decline to the Jewish holiday, Yom Kippur, which affected the show Friday and Saturday, and the “fabulous weather,” which van Maanen says attracted some people to the boat show but beckoned others to get out on the water.
Dates for next year’s show are Sept. 22 to 25.
