    3. Numeric
  2. Special Types
    1. Password

i.Displays asterisks on insert and update pages.

ii.Not entirely secure because a view source on the update page will reveal the password.

    1. Hidden

i.Typically used in conjunction with code to insert an initial value (i.e. timestamp).

ii.Very valuable for modules where data is entered from the front end of the web site.

      1. Color Picker

i.In the past this control was automatically entered when the word ‘color’ appeared in the attribute label. This implementation has been eliminated and each of these attributes has its data type set to the new color selector.

ii.This control can now be used by any attribute regardless of its name.

      1. Text Areas
        1. Simple Small Text Area
      1. File Upload

i.Standard HTML text with a 255 character limit.

        1. Simple Large Text Area

i.Standard HTML text area without a 255 character limit.

ii.You cannot change an existing attribute to this data type unless its original data type was large text.

        1. Single Selectors
          1. Combo Box
        1. Small Text Area
        2. Large Text Area

i.This control displays a text box and a drop down list box.

ii.Typing an entry in the text box adds it to the list box after submission. When an entry is not selected in any records it is removed from the list box.

iii.Selecting an entry from the list box populates the text box with its value for selection after submission.

iv.It’s my opinion that this would be a great control for text boxes that are going to have the same value entered multiple times (i.e. Job Title, Division, etc.). It will help with eliminating similar entries with the same meaning.

          1. Taxonomy Radio Buttons

i.This control is a single selector used for keyword lists with only a few entries.

ii.All existing attributes using static keyword lists with fewer than 4 keywords has been changed to this control.

iii.Making this control required and not entering a default value will force the user to make a selection.

            1. Taxonomy Selector
            2. Data Selector
            3. Filtered Data Selector

i.This control will display a standard taxonomy selector filtered by the current audience or site when necessary.

ii.If a selection exists that is not available to the current audience or site the selector will retain the value by adding an option called ‘Inaccessible Value’.

              1. Module Selector

i.This control contains a list of all modules and their GUIDs as values.

ii.This list is ONLY filtered by group and site exclusions, but not by audience type or site.

              1. Multi Selectors (not available to client clusters)
                1. Taxonomy Check Boxes

i.This control is a multi selector used for keyword lists with only a few entries.

ii.This is the only multi selector where the values are stored in the UpdateableSections table. This means if all values are selected they must not add up to 255 characters including the comma-space separators.

                1. Taxonomy Multi Selector

i.A multi select list box containing values from the selected taxonomy type.

ii.This control is stored in the LargeText table more than 255 characters.

iii.You cannot change an existing attribute to this data type unless its original data type was large text.

                  1. Data Multi Selector

                    1. Filtered Data Multi Selector

i.This control will display a standard taxonomy multi selector filtered by the current audience or site when necessary.

ii.This control is stored in the LargeText table more than 255 characters.

iii.If selections exist that are not available to the current audience or site the selector will be accompanied by a hidden field containing these values.

iv.You cannot change an existing attribute to this data type unless its original data type was large text.

                      1. Module Data Multi Selector

i.A multi select list box containing the list of modules and their GUIDs.

iii. This list is ONLY filtered by group and site exclusions, but not by audience type or site.
