Big fish impress anglers

A part-time North Myrtle Beach resident caught a blue marlin Wednesday that weighed 1,062 pounds during the 36th annual White Marlin Open Fishing Tournament in Ocean City, Md. The fish set a new state record and landed Farris $555,000 in prize money in the tournament that has more than $2 million in prizes and nearly 300 boats registered.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Benson the carp, born around 1984 and at times England's largest freshwater fish and the U.K.'s most famous fish, has died. The 50-pound monster was reportedly hooked and caught 60 times before meetings its end in a mysterious way.
