Bird's-eye view of a foundering boat’s rescue

A tugboat carrying New Hampshire First District Congressman Frank Guinta took an unexpected detour through Portsmouth Harbor on Tuesday after another vessel became pinned against the Memorial Bridge and began taking on water.

Guinta was touring the waterways near the New Hampshire Port Authority when a tugboat working at the bridge site became lodged against a metal span at approximately 2 p.m. and began to tip over.
"I just said, 'Go do what you have to do to help," Guinta recalled, "And then someone, I forgot who it was, said 'Sorry you missed your next meeting,' and I said, 'Oh, don't worry about it. This is more important.' "
