An iconic riverboat-style party boat burned to a charred hull on Lake Travis in Texas on Friday after officials said a fire begin in the boat's kitchen.

After the fire erupted at 4:10 p.m. aboard the Flagship Texas, witnesses said three crew members scrambled off the docked craft quickly and safely. The two-level boat is known for hosting floating weddings and banquets for up to 250 people.

A friend of the boat's owner told KXAN News that the craft had just refurbished to ready her for the summer season. Fire officials estimate the loss at $400,000.
