It’s not unheard of for marinas to get stuck with boats whose owners never come to retrieve them.
But a nicely kept, late-model sport cruiser valued at more than $100,000 is an altogether different issue.
In Sweden this spring, a wealthy man came forward to claim a boat that has been floating in a Stromstad marina for at least two years after he apparently forgot all about it.
The boat’s Norwegian owner says he intended to sell his Rinker 342 Fiesta Vee in 2012 and was under the impression that he had sold it, the Swedish-language newspaper Expressen GT reports.
As a nod to the honesty of Swedes, the keys were tied to railings in plain view.
