JULY 13 - A 65-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed Sunday while fishing with his grandsons on the St. Lawrence River near Chippewa Bay, N.Y., when a woman operating a personal watercraft collided with his boat.

William L. Winter, of Easton, Pa., was aboard his 16-foot center console with his three grandsons, ages 12, 14 and 16, state police said. At about 5:40 p.m., a Sea-Doo PWC, operated by Amber L. Damon, 20, of Watertown, N.Y., crashed into Winter’s boat, sending all four passengers overboard.

The cause of Winter’s death was not immediately released. Damon suffered a head injury and was listed in serious condition at an area hospital, a news report says. The grandsons suffered only minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation and charges against Damon are pending, the report says.
