Boat show introduces people to a way of life

The 37th annual Norwalk Boat Show launches again Thursday at Cove Marina with a lot of new attractions — including an alligator catcher.

"We're always trying to make the show new, fresh and innovative, and I think we did a really good job this year pulling it off," show manager Jon Pritko said.

"Swampmaster" Jeff Quattrocchi will catch a live eight-foot alligator and a baby alligator will be on site for kids to handle.

Also at the show will be the debut of Queen Bee, a 26-foot Regulator powerboat that survived an unmanned, 3-1/2-year trip from Rhode Island to Spain after a wave tossed the boat's crew overboard by Nantucket, R.I.

Regulator Marine is touring various shows to showcase its unsinkability.
