Hundreds of beach-goers got quite a surprise Sunday morning when they headed out to South Carolina’s Surfside Beach. A sailboat was washed right up onto the sand near Ocean Lakes.
The boat owners tell WMBF News they live on Surfside Beach and they leave the boat anchored out sometimes. On Saturday night, the boat's two 65-foot anchors parted and by Sunday morning, it was stuck onshore.
Now the boat, which reportedly has hull damage, will be towed off the beach.
