Boatbuilders try to stay afloat in rough seas

While recreational boaters hold off purchases in this painful, lingering recession, boat manufacturers are no better off than automobile manufacturers. While the wealthy consumer has many options - and even bargains - at their disposal, boatbuilders struggle to maintain the bottom line. That is accomplished, in part, at the expense of the blue-collar workers who build the boats and are losing their jobs in droves.
