The body of Christopher Hill, 39, was found Wednesday morning on a shore behind a home in Vero Beach, Fla. He had been missing since Monday after apparently being thrown from a boat, officials announced.
Hill's friend who also was on the boat, Amy Reede, 38, of Ohio, was rescued Monday by a couple returning from a fishing trip after they saw a small, unmanned Boston Whaler spinning fast in tight circles.
Lt. Vann Streety of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said Hill sustained a "severe traumatic injury," but when queried further said that was part of the ongoing investigation. He said at this time there's nothing to indicate foul play or any sort of crime and that an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
The investigation will also include scrutinizing the 18-foot Boston Whaler, which is registered to Reede's boyfriend, Ed Scheel of Stuart.
