Boater swims 5 miles to safety

An Australian fisherman who swam for six hours after being washed off his boat has credited "adrenalin and just sheer determination" for his survival.

Andrew Wilson spent yesterday resting with loved ones after swimming a remarkable 8 kilometers Tuesday afternoon and into the night.

The 25-year-old was fishing at Nine Mile Reef, about 6 kilometers off the Tweed coast, about 2 p.m. local time when a rogue wave washed him overboard and his runabout powered on without him.
