Boatyard recovers from 2009 fire

A year ago New England Boatworks lost three buildings in a fire. Now the first new structure is almost finished at the Portsmouth, R.I., company, according to a news report.

The new building will be complete by the end of May, and will house composites fabrication operations, new boat construction and a machine shop.

New England Boatworks lost three 1930s vintage waterfront buildings in the fire, according to a local report. The builder is working on a 40-foot power yacht and also doing yacht repair and upgrade projects.
