Boston Whaler rolls out new models

MIAMI BEACH — Boston Whaler invited the media to look at the four new models it introduced Thursday at the Miami International Boat Show and unveiled its strategy to continue rolling out innovative new products that focus on versatility.

"The fact of the matter is, we have some exciting new stuff," Boston Whaler vice president of sales, marketing and customer service Jeff Vaughn said at the event.

The four new models are the new 350 Outrage, the 270 Dauntless, the dual console 230 Vantage and the 270 Vantage.

"The 350 Outrage really takes all of the features that make Outrage successful and filled the void between the 32 and the 37," vice president of product development and engineering Lenn Scholtz told Trade Only Today after the event. "And the Dauntless family has just been spectacular for us. The mission for the 27 is to take what's great about the 23 and take it up to a 27."

"To have a single purpose for a boat doesn't fit the needs of a typical consumer," director of product development Chris Wachowski said. "A lot of what we've been doing for years, we want the models to have comfort for cruising on the open water, fishing and water sports.”

The 230 Vantage won an Innovation Award in the category of runabout and fishing craft up to 24 feet at Thursday's National Marine Manufacturers Association breakfast for "showing amazing versatility in a small space defined by innovative seating and quality execution," said judge Jason Wood, senior editor at Power & Motoryacht.
