BVI Spring Regatta wraps 33rd annual race
More than 130 boats representing 15 countries competed in the 33rd annual BVI Spring Regatta, April 2 to 4 at Nanny Cay Marina. Sixty boats entered the second annual BVI Sailing Festival, the low-pressure, three-day warm-up for the regatta.
Although light winds were seen throughout the two events, which span a week and started on March 31, a lot of racing was had in the British Virgin Islands.
“There was no point making them suffer on the water,” said Bob Phillips, regatta chairman, discussing the last day’s cancellation.
