Capsized boaters ‘did everything right’

With National Safe Boating Week a week away, Coast Guard officials said Saturday they couldn't have scripted an ocean rescue off Cumberland Island, Ga., any better.

Coast Guard vessels rescued four family members from South Carolina after their 25-foot Hydra-Sports boat capsized 14 miles offshore.

Specifically, the skipper placed a mayday call and had an EPIRB, all aboard wore life jackets and and they stayed with the vessel.
