APRIL 28 - A Grants Pass, Ore., man celebrated his 106th birthday Monday by taking a jetboat ride down the Rogue River.

Dick Burns spent about 30 minutes on the boat courtesy of Hellgate Jetboat Excursions, according to news reports. The company doesn’t begin its season until May 1, but made an exception for Burns’ birthday.

Despite his age, Burns says the jetboat ride didn’t frighten him, or tire him. “I just jump in the boat and go,” he says in a news report. “Nothing bothers me. I do all right.”

Burns apparently has a penchant for taking risks on his birthdays, reports say. “He went for a balloon ride, a helicopter ride when he was 104 … and last year, went for a motorcycle ride in a sidecar,” says Ada Lee who is with the Highland House — a nursing home where Burns is a resident — in a report. “The only thing left is to bungee jump, which we won’t let him do.”

Burns hasn’t decided yet how he’ll celebrate his 107th birthday, a report says.
