Charter boats charged with violations

Businesses that operate six Fort Lauderdale charter fishing boats were charged during the last few weeks with selling king mackerel illegally in a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigation dubbed Operation Mack Attack.

The three-month investigation, which began in September, documented 6,000 pounds of kingfish bought and sold and a total of $10,000 exchanged, resulting in 42 charges.
