Coast Guard accident trial continues

The defense attorney in an ongoing trial in which a Coast Guardsman stands accused of piloting his boat too fast and causing a collision with a pleasure boat that killed an 8-year-old promised new evidence against the plaintiffs.

Defense attorney Lt. Cmdr. Andrew Myers told the jury that evidence would show that Petty Officer Paul Ramos was driving his vessel at a safe speed and that the boy's father had been drinking and did not follow safe boating procedures.
